Green Jet Fuel

Just a few weeks ago, the European Union confirmed that the ReFuelEU Aviation initiative would impose the use of green fuels (Sustainable Aviation Fuels) on all flights departing from EU airports, regardless of their destination.

What will this mean for the biofuel and transport industries?

Our analysts' answer:

The European Union's push towards the use of green fuels in all sectors has a considerable impact both politically and commercially. It shows the huge development of the biofuel industry, which has been able to produce technically sound and safe products not only for road transport but also for aviation.

Those who will benefit the most from this change are the producers of HVO (Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil) due to the increase in demand, making room for more innovative oils such as Camelina, which is considered an excellent base for the production of Jet Fuel.

An interesting focus point shown by one of our studies, is the cost of this transition and the impact it could have on the end consumer. From the results we know that when the full cost of the carbon footprint is evaluated across the different energy options, biofuels become very competitive. Each of us needs to be aware that different types of transport have different carbon costs and this should make us aware of making more responsible choices in this regard. In fact, we believe that positions that see reducing carbon emissions as increasing costs are short-sighted and dramatically outdated.

Aiming to offer our customers a cutting-edge, high-quality solution that benefits both land and businesses, Adamant works day in and day out investing in the production of oil from Camelina Sativa as a cover crop; an innovative solution for the production of aviation biofuels.

Bearing in mind the words of Andrew Murphy (Director of Aviation for the NGO Transport & Environment): "It is important to recognise that any fuel from the land will compete with forestry and food," we can say that Adamant sees the land as a living ecosystem that should not be left barren between crops, but as a tool to grow solutions that improve carbon fixation.

This original approach is already is being actively developed in Argentina, where our Camelina crops are located.

Finally, we can say that aviation is certainly still far from being totally carbon free. However, it is thanks to companies like Adamant, that aviation and beyond are moving in an increasingly green and responsible direction.

Green Jet Fuel

I nostri analisti rispondo:
